In the technological, fast paced, social media driven world in which we live, there is uncertainty everywhere: the marketplace, in educational systems, partisan politics, the family . . The only assurance a believer has in a turmoil ridden world is found in the Word of God. Jesus declared, "I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance {to the full, till it overflows}. (St. John 10:10b AMP)
The scriptures are replete with narratives of God's immeasurable, incomprehensible, unmitigated love for His people. The scriptures also reveal how HE shields His people from the destructive forces dominating the world and its systems. This is depicted in the book of Exodus when the judgment of God meandered throughout the land of Egypt as a result of hard hearted Pharaoh and his adamant refusal to release the People of Israel from bondage. However, the children of Israel, who lived in Goshen, likened to the Kingdom of God, were unaffected by the plagues in Egypt that is likened to the Kingdom of this world.
"But on that day I will deal differently with the land of Goshen, where
my people live, no swarms of flies will be there, so that you will
know that I, the Lord, am in this land. I will make a distinction
between my people and your people. This sign will occur tomorrow."
(Exodus 8: 22-23 NIV)
"The only place it did not hail was the land of Goshen, where the
Israelites were." (Exodus 9:26 NIV)
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) Individuals who are in Covenant relationship with Jesus live under a better Covenant which was ratified with the blood of Jesus shed for the world on the cross at Calvary. He paid the ultimate price with His life for our sins and is sitting on the right hand of The Father making intercession on our behalf. Moreover, we now have eternal life with our needs met with Heaven's best. The Father simply requires our obedience to His Word, the code of conduct for the believer. As a father to His children, God declares: "If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land." (Isaiah 1:19 NIV)
Susan B. Anthony, a fierce advocate and leader in the Women's Suffrage Movement, stated in her final suffrage speech, "Failure is impossible." Miss Anthony was fighting a war against the arch rivals who opposed women having the right to vote. However, her statement implies a revelation she must have had in the Words of Jesus spoken in Matthew 19:26b NLT, "Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible."
Impossible situations can become possible with God if we walk by faith and not by our five physical senses. (II Corinthians 5:7) Acquiescing to the human senses will result in anxiety, frustration, and an eventual surrender to circumstances. The life of faith, however, requires that we employ offensive tactics against the strategies of the devil, using the spiritual weapons we have been given: The Word, praise, worship, prayer, and the armor of a heavy laden soldier. Paul admonishes believers to "Fight the good fight of faith." (I Timothy 6:12 NIV) The forces of darkness will wage war against the believer in the midst of a faith project. Albeit, at the end, the believer will always wins.
All in all, the choices we make today will determine our tomorrow. The Father states emphatically in Deuteronomy 30:15-20 NIV, "This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to His voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and He will give you many years in the land He swore to give to your fathers
. . . " Which is your choice . . . life or death?
